"I charge you, before God and Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, by His coming, and by His kingdom: Preach the Word, be instant in season, out of season, convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching. For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will accumulate for themselves teachers who will suit their own desires or sense of truth." 2 Timothy 4:1-3.

We greet you in the Name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Worship is the heart of our life at Saint John's. Sunday by Sunday we gather at God's Holy Altar to share the Sacrament of the Eucharist, using the rich traditions of the Book of Common Prayer. Scripture is always emphasized and our preaching supports traditional Christian values. At the 8:00 AM Service, using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer the service is spoken; at the later 9:00 AM (Rite Two) and 11:15 AM (Rite One) services the organ plays and our choir leads us in majestic and powerful music in praise of Almighty God. Often we are blessed with an offering by our Handbell Choir and Children's Choir.

Our nursery is open on Sunday morning from 8:45 am to 12:30 pm.

The Lady Chapel is open daily, Monday - Friday for Morning Prayer at 9:00 AM. On Wednesdays we pray the Angelus at 9:00 AM. The chapel is a place of quiet prayer and strength, a place where God is present for us. The Holy Eucharist is celebrated Wednesdays at 7:00 AM and again at 6:00 PM with Holy Unction in the chapel. On Wednesday evenings we have a Potluck dinner beginning at 6:30 pm with Bible Study that begins at 7:00 pm. Those who come seeking the Lord Jesus through prayer, sacramental worship, and biblical teaching will find St.John's to be their spiritual home.

Since the parishes formation Saint John's has remained true to their belief in the nature and purpose of Jesus Christ and the historic and apostolic Church. The official meeting of seven families to organize Saint John's was held on February 7, 1924. The property at the corner of College Avenue, Elizabeth Blvd., and Page Avenue was purchased in 1925. Our current church was completed in 1952 and is fashioned in the style of a rural English parish. The heart of Saint John's always has been its people.

As a church of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth we support through prayer and active ministry our bishop, the Rt. Reverend Jack Leo Iker. The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth in the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone is a constituent member of the Anglican Communion, a Fellowship within the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, consisting of those duly constituted Dioceses, Provinces and regional churches in communion with the See of Canterbury, upholding and propagating the historic Faith and Order as set forth in the Old and New Testaments and expressed in the Book of Common Prayer. The mission of the diocese (and of our parish) is "To Equip the Saints for the Work of Ministry."

We are striving to unite as one body and spread the love of God. Saint John's has much to offer anyone who is seeking to live an authentic Christian life. We put a great deal of emphasis on personal spiritual formation. This is evident in our Bible Study, the ministries of the Daughters of the King, the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew's, Sunday morning Adult Formation, and Children and Youth ministry.

At the heart of our mission is service to the poor and needy. Please contact the church office or use the email contact provided on this Web Site to inquire further about our parish life and ministry.

God bless, and I remain,

Your brother in Christ,

The Reverend David F. Klein, SSC Rector

Parish Values David F.Klein http://stjohnsfortworth.anglicanconnection.net/?id=309 2008-10-06T06:49:48Z

"God's divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, that through these you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of passion, and become partakers of the divine nature." 2 Peter 1:3,4.

A core philosophy of St. John's is to be a parish family in obedience to historic Anglicanism disciplined by faithful biblical teaching, preaching and service to the poor that through the exercise of faith, hope and charity we can bring souls into a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ.

As a church of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth we support through prayer and active ministry our bishop, the Rt. Reverend Jack Leo Iker.

For our Diocese to remain faithful and obedient to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to best accomplish its ministry while maintaining the highest level of true communion with orthodox Anglicans and Christians world-wide the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth separated legally and canonically from the Protestant Episcopal Church of the United States at our Diocesan Convention November 2008. Our Diocese and St. John's are members of the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone and the historic world-wide Anglican Communion.

Discipleship for us means desiring to be a life-long learner of God. We mature in our awareness of Him through the exercise of the Christian faith and life. This faith is based on God's own divine revelation which is discovered through holy scriptures and the Church's spiritual and theological traditions. A disciple of Jesus Christ is one who claims Jesus Christ as their "Pearl of Greatest Price."

Our Parish Goal is that by God's grace Saint John's seeks to be a welcoming Christian community, dedicated to the work of Almighty God through reverent worship, daily prayer, fellowship, Christian education, faithful stewardship and outreach that we might take Christ into the world through our daily lives.

We are a Christian community that encourages a vocation of prayer for all of it's members. We encourage exploring various forms of Christian prayer and meditation.

Ronald Knox said in the early twentieth century, “These times call not merely for generating moral outrage. Rather, we are rediscovering how the Holy Spirit is descending upon the faithful reclaiming them to ancient faith and calling them to repossess captive institutions.”

Let us be found among the faithful who are seeking to reclaim the historic faith!

]]> Let us pray: David F.Klein http://stjohnsfortworth.anglicanconnection.net/?id=341 2008-10-09T10:48:01Z

Heavenly Father, from the rising of the sun to its setting Your holy Name is worthy of all praise. Let our prayer come like incense before You. May the lifting up of our hands be as an evening sacrifice acceptable to You, Lord our God. Amen.

The following prayers are offered as special needs and concerns of this congregation. Please call the Parish Office 817-927-5341 or email with your prayer needs.

Before you post, please remember Matthew 5:43-45: "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven."

Let us pray for our Bishop and his staff that God will grant them faith, hope and charity during this time of transition in our Diocesan life. Let us pray for Bishop Jack and Donna Iker and for Canon Charles and Marilyn Hough. Let us pray for the membership of Saint John's to have a holy Advent and Christmastide. Let us pray for the poor and the needy, and let us ask through prayer that our heavenly Father will use us as a parish family to show them Christ's deep love and care for them. Let us pray for our parish family that will be traveling over the holidays for a safe journey and return. Let us pray for Christians everywhere who are suffering and are persecuted for their faith. Let us pray for their moral courage and for inner strength. Let us also pray for those who are persecuting Christians that the Holy Spirit will be able to find a way to open their heart to the way of love. ]]>
The glorious duty of man: to pray and to love David F.Klein http://stjohnsfortworth.anglicanconnection.net/?id=343 2008-10-09T11:03:11Z My little children, reflect on these words: the Christians treasure is not on earth but in Heaven. Our thoughts, then, ought to be directed to where our treasure is. This is the glorious duty of man: to pray and to love. If you pray and love, that is where a man's happiness lies.

Prayer is nothing else but union with God. When one has a heart that is pure and united with God, he is given a kind of serenity and sweetness that makes him estatic, a light that surrounds him with marvelous brightness.

]]> Chapter of Divine Mercy - DOK David F.Klein http://stjohnsfortworth.anglicanconnection.net/?id=361 2008-10-20T08:14:19Z My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that confesses their sins and afterwards receives Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity.

Diary of St. Faustina Kowalska, # 699

Our Chapter of the Daughters of the King is a sisterhood of serious prayer warriors.

Intercessory prayer and the development of the spiritul life through discipline are two major goals our Daughters strive for. Through their love of God and their sacrifice of time and prayer our Daughters contribute to a major part of the spiritual foundation of Saint John's ministry.

The Chapter meets on the second Sunday of each month at 4:00 pm. At certains times of the year this changes, so watch the Calendar. Visitors are welcome to attend the first part of the meeting.
