Simply Christian: Why Christianity Makes Sense, by N.T. Wright.  The author is Anglican Bishop of Durham, England, and a major intellectual voice in sound New Testament scholarship today.  Like C. S. Lewis did in his classic Mere Christianity, Wright makes the case for Christian faith from the ground up, assuming that the reader is starting from ground zero with no predisposition to and perhaps even some negativity toward religion in general and Christianity in particular. His goal is to describe Christianity in as simple and accessible, yet hopefully attractive and exciting, a way as possible, both to say to outsiders “You might want to look at this further,” and to say to insiders “You may not have quite understood this bit clearly yet.” Simply Christian is meant for both.

A Father Who Keeps His PromisesA Father who keeps His Promises: God's Covenant Love in Scripture, by Scott Hahn.  Hahn explores the "covenant love" God reveals to us through the Scriptures and explains how God patiently reaches out to us—despite our faults and shortcomings—to restore us into relationship with his divine family. You'll discover how the patient love of the Father revealed in the Bible is the same persistent love he has for you.
